Structured to Build,
Not Just Practice
A School Handwriting Improvement Programme That Works
A curriculum built on research, not routine — designed to improve student handwriting in a step-by-step, school-compatible flow from LKG to Class 12.
In most schools, handwriting is reduced to a copywriting book. There is no formal training in handwriting education in Indian B.Ed or M.Ed programmes. As a result, teachers teach the way they learned as children — leading to inconsistency, confusion, and no common method across classes.
Yet, all subjects — maths, science, languages — are ultimately tested through one thing: written expression.
There is a curriculum for every academic subject in every grade. But the skill that determines how knowledge is expressed in every exam — handwriting — has no formal curriculum in India.
Writewiz fills that gap.
Every class uses one module together. While schools may start at different points in the academic year, the assigned module runs for a fixed cycle, allowing for consistent student exposure and teacher follow-up.
Progressive Skill Ladder Includes:
- Pencil grasp, posture, paper position
- Gross and fine motor training
- Hand-eye coordination
- 4-line → 2-line → single-line → blank sheet transitions
- Pencil-to-pen transition
- Alphabet formation, connection, and complex ligatures
- Speed writing techniques
- Visual writing (board copying), auditory writing (dictation), cognitive recall
- Math, science, and subject-specific writing formats (theorem, chemical formula, diagram labelling)
- Essay, letter, long answer, and exam presentation strategies
Modules That Match Academic Flow
- Curriculum spans LKG to Class 12
- Over 20 structured levels, deployed based on school entry year
- The same class in Year 1 of implementation may use a different module from Year 5 of implementation
- Curriculum remains uniform across boards (CBSE, ICSE, Matric, State)
- One module per class — no intra-class variation
Teacher Training That Mirrors Curriculum Depth
All teachers — handwriting or otherwise — are supported through the GrEM system (Graphological Empowerment Model), which builds skill in:
- Teaching method with multisensory tools
- Letter demonstration and correction practices
- Use of GroFiA® and related tools
- Self-check supervision and motivational cues
Annual Teacher Training Includes:
- GrEM Foundation Training (with evaluation and certification)
- Parts B–H: Progressive teacher modules by year of partnership
- Refresher training for existing Writewiz teachers
- New staff training as teachers join
- ScriptCraft™ workshop for deeper understanding of writing education
- Practice worksheets, stroke review, error analysis tools
Training is conducted onsite, virtually, or in hybrid models as per school capacity.
Adaptable Without Compromising Structure
- Works across boards and school types
- 3-period/week model recommended
- 2 or even 1-period/week models possible with minor protocol changes
- Curriculum does not change for Elegant vs Elite schools
For rural or budget-conscious schools, enrichment books are available separately (branded independently from Writewiz)
Psychological + Academic Outcomes
Students who complete a module gain:
- Confidence to complete exams on time
- Faster note-taking from board and dictation
- Clearer answer scripts = better marks
- Long-term self-esteem from improved legibility and speed
- Academic motivation as writing becomes a strength, not a burden
Handwriting affects not just what students write — but how they feel about their learning.
